Residential Interior Design in the US and Europe
The owners of thіs coutry house approached the OLT DESIGN team with a request to renovate their house and transform it into a modern place for cozy relaxation. The owner’s desire was to create a special area for billiards – his life passion. In turn, his wife’s requirement was to make the kitchen as convenient as possible.
Based on the owners’ wishes and considering the specifics of the architecture, we chose American classic style as the main theme of the project and added dynamics and glamour to it with ethnic details. We wanted to create an atmosphere of maximum unity with nature, so we used calm tones and natural materials that resonate with the landscape.
We present the interior design of a modern country house in American style.
Transparent Living Room
The feature of the living room, located under the roof, is the high ceiling adorned with wood and exposed ceiling beams. This architectural approach, established during the construction phase, is emblematic of American classic style and sets the tone for the entire space.
The wooden ceiling is complemented by large panoramic windows, making the landscape part of the interior. Natural stone, used to decorate the fireplace, reinforces the overall concept. Delicate glass, ceramic, and metal details, along with a Minotti sofa and designer Chair Cadeira De Sérgio Rodrigues and Gross Armchair Contemporary by Enne, make the interior more modern. A hammock by Ralph Pucci near the window adds a special charm and coziness to the living room.
Tea Room
The living room is complemented by a tea room, which also serves as a space for family dinners. Here, you can see a captivating and bold play of color and ornament. Like in the living room, natural tones prevail, but they are richer and more vibrant here. The smooth form of the Tense Pendant Lamp, the texture of the Bonotto Editions chest of drawers, and the artwork ‘The Abstract Contours Of Full-Bodied Women’ by Jessalyn Brooks, make the room contemporary and unexpected for a traditional interior.
Classic Kitchen
The kitchen harmoniously blends with the wooden ceiling: surfaces are adorned with oak veneer, some coated with dark green paint. White paint on the walls, wooden bar stools Pyla by Bruno Moinard Éditions, marble countertops, and a contrasting marble floor mosaic are attributes that support the classic American style in the interior. Details such as the faucet above the stove, open shelves, concealed lighting, towel and spice holders make the kitchen extremely convenient.
Ethnic Bedroom
For the bedroom, we chose a combination of classic and ethnic elements, contrasting but not loud due to calm natural colors. Classic features include the bed, oak panels behind the headboard, wooden beams, and panoramic windows in dark frames. The vibrant ethnic character is brought to the room through decor elements: a rug, nightstands with rattan inserts, a woven chandelier, and an unconventional bench.
Entertainment Area with Friends
A special place is designated for the billiards room. It’s a separate space that can be divided into several zones for different leisure scenarios. The billiards table takes center stage. A wine fridge, mini kitchen for cocktail preparation, and custom bar counter create a space for heartfelt conversations over drinks. The gaming machine contrasts with the classic billiards table but speaks to the owners’ sense of humor.
